Ranked Choice Voting - Volunteers Needed for Michigan Ballot Campaign
Thousands of volunteers needed statewide

Between 2021 and 2023, Rank MI Vote got Ranked Choice Voting charter amendments on local ballots in Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo, East Lansing, and Royal Oak. All of these amendments were approved by voters, including overwhelming 71% support in Kalamazoo and 73% support in Ann Arbor.
We are now seeking to build upon our successes by mounting a ballot campaign to amend the Michigan constitution for Ranked Choice Voting. We are presently seeking volunteers from all across Michigan to help in the following areas:
Regional leaders and volunteer coordinators
Public speakers: who give presentations about RCV to civic, political, and other groups
Coalition building with other organizations
Outreach to disenfranchised groups
Communications: including newsletter writing, social media, responding to website and e-mail inquiries, and press releases
Writers and graphic designers to develop instructional materials for new volunteers
Fundraising
Technical team and data entry
Treasurer / accounting / finance
Legal research and policy
Interested volunteers can fill out our volunteer form.
If you are unable to give your time, you can help monetarily by making a donation on our website. Among other needs, we are seeking enough funding to hire a full-time, paid staff person for one year. You can also buy our apparel, wear it around town, and help spread the word about Ranked Choice Voting!
We anticipate beginning statewide petition signature collection around mid-to-late April 2025, and continuing for six months until we reach our goal of at least 600,000 signatures. That would have us qualified for the November 3, 2026 statewide ballot around December 2025, which will give us all of 2026 to campaign for the YES vote.
Below is video of me making my first public call for volunteers statewide, during the Monday, June 3, 2024 Kalamazoo City Commission business meeting:
